Two injured in Iron County
CRYSTAL FALLS – Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at a road construction stop sign on U.S. 2 in Iron County Tuesday.
At 2:10 p.m., the Iron County Sheriff’s Department received a report of an accident near Airport Road, approximately five miles south of Crystal Falls.
According to the sheriff’s department, a truck collided with a vehicle at the stop sign, and the vehicle then struck the back of another vehicle that was also stopped for construction.
Deputies said that as a result of the accident, two individuals sustained injuries and were transported to Northstar Health System by ambulance. Names are not being released as the accident remains under investigation.
An extensive piece of guard rail was damaged during the collision.
The Michigan State Police, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier, Northstar EMS, and the Iron County Road Commission assisted at the scene.
