VoicePlay from ‘The Sing Off’ kicks off Rozsa Center performance season

HOUGHTON – VoicePlay, the Orlando-based a cappella group that won America’s hearts on season four of NBC’s The Sing-Off, will perform live in Houghton on Sept. 5, at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets, which are $18 for adults, $9 for youth and $5 for Michigan Tech students, can be purchased at the Rozsa Center ticket office, online or by calling the ticket office at (906) 487-2073.

Brought to the Rozsa Center by Michigan Tech’s Student Entertainment Board, the highly original quintet recreates the orchestrated sound of an entire musical production with nothing but the human voice.

Rozsa Center interim director, Mary Muncil notes, “We couldn’t have selected a better performance to kick off our entertainment season. All ages will be blown away by their energy and incredible vocal talent.”

Amazing, humorous, vertigo-inducing harmonies pepper VoicePlay’s a cappella sound as the singers ping pong between eras and styles. The group puts their own quirky spin on genres ranging from R&B, soul, punk, dubstep and pop.
