Jeanette McMahon

KINGSFORD – Jeanette L. McMahon, 96, of Kingsford, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at Freeman Nursing & Rehabilitation Community.

She was born June 4, 1918, in Schaffer, daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Belanger) Cousineau. Jeanette married Patrick McMahon in November 1934 in Iron Mountain and he preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford and served on St. Veronica’s Circle. She was an immaculate housekeeper and cleaned houses as a side job for many years. Jeanette loved spending time with her family and friends.

Jeanette is survived by two sons, Kenneth McMahon of Felch and Wayne (Caroline) McMahon of Green Bay; a daughter, Linda (Richard) Maule of Kingsford; eight grandchildren, Patrick (Suzanne) McMahon, Randy (Lois) McMahon, Kelly Lichon, Stacy (Jay) Pharis, Rod (Lauri) Mongrain, Wendy (Mike) Tershner, Bryan Mongrain and Jackie (Jeremy) Larson; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Massie and Ila Pelletier; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Bauer, Agnes Nault and Louise Dishaw; a brother, Louis Cousineau; a daughter-in-law, Leona McMahon; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Kingsford Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow Friday at 11 a.m. at American Martyrs Catholic Church. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearer will be Pat McMahon.

Pallbearers will be Randy McMahon, Rod Mongrain, Bryan Mongrain, Josh McMahon, Jim McMahon, and Dane Dario.
