NORWAY – John Oman, 67, of Norway, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at his home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1946, son of John Albert Oman and Marie Leona (VanGoethem) Oman. John was a layout inspector for Grede Foundry. He was an avid hunter, and he also had a love for history and antiques. John often volunteered at Habitat for Humanity.
John is survived by two daughters; Kathryn (David) Straccia and Andrea Oman; two stepchildren, Julie (Arthur) Panick and Craig (Eileen) Alleva; one sister, Lois (Jeff) Carson; one grandchild, Cameron Oman PV2; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend, his dog, Willy John Oman.
John is preceeded in death by his brother, Roger Oman; and his parents, John and Marie Oman.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
