Jeanette ‘Jane’ Mariucci

IRON MOUNTAIN – Jeanette J. “Jane” Mariucci, 84, of Iron Mountain, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Hyland Nursing Home.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1930, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Edmond and Armenia (Zaccardi) Mariucci. Jane graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1948 and Northern Michigan University as a special education teacher. She was an elementary school teacher in the area for many years.

Jane was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, belonged to the Ladies’ Guild, and took part in a weekly Bible study.

She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and MARSP. Jane loved to cook and golf. She even owned her own golf cart. She enjoyed traveling and traveled throughout Europe in 1962. A lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, she was proud of her hometown, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Jane will be remembered as a wonderful teacher and aunt.

She is survived by one brother Roland (Jean) Mariucci of Omaha, Neb., one niece Anne Mariucci of Scottsdale, Ariz., three nephews Bill (Claire) Mariucci of Portland, Ore., Steve (Suzanne) Mariucci of La Jolla, Calif., and Tom (Amy) Mariucci of Scottsdale, Ariz., one aunt Carmelina (nee Ganga) Ivacko of Iron Mountain, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor James Kaczmarek will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
