Doll Club meets Thursday

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. – The Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will hold its next meeting on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Olson Memorial Library in Eagle River.

During the business meeting, the doll club will confirm plans for an open house at the Olson Memorial Library on Sept. 20.

At the open house, members will display dolls and answer questions, but no dolls will be for sale. However, anyone interested in learning the value of a doll may bring it to the open house for an appraisal. There will be a small charge for this service.

After the business meeting, Sally Young of Arbor Vitae will present a program on Ruth Handler. Handler was an American businesswoman and inventor. She served as the president of the toy manufacturer Mattel Inc., and is remembered for her role in marketing the Barbie doll.

Guests are always welcomed at the doll club meetings.

Anyone with questions about the doll club or the program may contact Bonnie Margitan at (715) 356-6889, Sally Young at (715) 356-9399 or Judy Wainwright at (715) 479-7132.
