Amundson promoted by Marinette County Sheriff’s department

MARINETTE, Wis. – Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve announced that Deputy Robert (Bob) Amundson has been promoted to sergeant.

Amundson replaces Sgt. Kevin Solway who resigned to accept the information services director position for Marinette County.

Amundson, 37, of Niagara, has served as temporary sergeant in the past to fill in for a military deployment vacancy.

He is a field training officer, an instructor for the sheriff’s office in firearms training, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course) instructor and serves on the Special Response Team.

Amundson has served with the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office for 11 years.

Sgt. Amundson will supervise one of the night shift platoons.
