NORWAY – Charlotte Natalie Jasonowicz, 87, of Norway, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday Aug. 15, 2014, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1926, in Norway, the daughter of the late Louis and Minnie (Stevens) Tomasini
Charlotte graduated from Norway High School in 1945.
She was united in marriage with Edward Jasonowicz on Sept. 3, 1949, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.
Together they settled in Norway, where they lived for 64 years being blessed with four wonderful children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Charlotte was mostly a stay at home mother, although she did spend a few years working for Milprint in Milwaukee and the Ford Motor Company in Kingsford, prior to marriage.
Charlotte enjoyed playing cards with her Canasta Club, as well as bowling with her friends.
She was a member of Oak Crest Golf Club for many years and loved the game of golf and the comraderie that followed.
Char was a baker and shared the goodies from her kitchen with many. She also did a lot of knitting and sewing in her spare time.
One of Char’s most memorable and happiest times were at Fox Hills Golf Resort in Mishicot Wis., where she and Ed spent several summer golf vacations together with family and friends.
Char is survived by her loving husband, Edward; her children, Mary (Tony) Melchiori of Marshfield, Wis., Mark (Marilyn) Jasonowicz of Lansing, Mich., Marcia (Bob) Peterson and Angela (Darrell) Finley of Norway; eight grandchildren Aaron Melchiori, Anne (Jason) Wellman, Mark (Natalie) Peterson, Kevin Jasonowicz, Kailyn Jasonowicz, Heather Hewlett, Lindsay Peterson and Tanner Finley; three great-grandchildren, Brady, Tyler, Leah Wellman; sister, Dolores Butler of Vulcan; brother, Harvey (Dolores) Tomasini of Norway; sisters-in-law, Janet (Nick ) Massie of Quinnesec and Viola Jasonowicz of Palatine, Ill.; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Maryhill Manor for the compassion and loving care during her stay there.
Visitation will be held today from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
The family request that memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
