Food distribution at VAMC

IRON MOUNTAIN – There will be a mobile pantry food distribution free to veterans and active military members on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., or until food is gone.

Tje Seventh-day Adventist Food Pantry and Community Center in Escanaba and the Patriot Guard, working in cooperation with the Feeding America organization, are donating a truckload of food for all veterans and members of the military.

Official identification verifying veteran or active status will be required to receive food. Food will be offered on a first come, first serve basis until the supply is gone.

“We are expecting 30,000 pounds of food, so bring your own box,”a spokesperson said. “There will be a lot of fresh and perishable food, so please plan accordingly.”

The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is located at 325 East H S Food distribution will take place in Parking Lot G.
