Theisen Memorial Scholarships awarded
FELCH – Nancy Theisen was a local, dedicated nurse whose professional career spanned over 40 years.
In memory his wife Nancy, Wayne Theisen has chosen to support local high school graduates who wish to continue their education in the field of nursing.
Two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each were given to graduates of North Dickinson High School to assist in defraying the extensive cost of higher education in memory of Mrs. Theisen.
The recipients for the 2014 Theisen Memorial Scholarships were Hannah Miller and Winter Steinbrecher. Hannah graduated with a 3.939 grade point average from North Dickinson High Schoool, and will be attending Northern Michigan University to pursue a degree in Nursing.
Winter Steinbrecher graduated from North Dickinson High School with a 3.978 grade point average and will be attending Bay de Noc Community College to further her education in the field of Nursing.
The Dickinson Area Community Foundation manages the Nurses Memorial Scholarship, as well as the Theisen Memorial Scholarship.
