Man arrested for making threats of terrorism
IRON RIVER – An Iron River man has been arrested for making threats of terrorism.
Anthony Lee Nielsen, 36, was arrested Tuesday on charges of making threats of terrorism, a 20-year felony, and possession of marijuana. He is also listed as a habitual offender-fourth.
Nielsen was arraigned on those charges in Iron County Trial Court on Wednesday.
Officials from the Iron River Police Department were unavailable for comment Wednesday afternoon regarding the incident that led to the charges.
Nielsen is currently lodged in the Iron County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
Assisting at the scene were the Iron County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police troopers from the Iron Mountain post, the Michigan State Police bomb squad out of Grayling, Mich., and the Michigan State Police K9 unit out of St. Ignace.
