Colorado fugitive apprehended in IM
IRON MOUNTAIN – Iron Mountain Police Department officers have apprehended a man wanted by Colorado authorities for weapons and assault charges.
Acting Iron Mountain Police Chief Ed Mattson said that his department was notified by Colorado authorities that a fugitive may be in the Iron Mountain area.
The fugitive was identified as 31-year-old Brandon Bishop of Colorado, who is wanted for charges of felony menacing with a real or simulated weapon and assault 3-reckless causing injury.
Officers, along with Michigan Department of Corrections parole agents, located Bishop hiding in a residence on the 500 block of East G Street. He was taken into custody without incident, said Mattson.
Also arrested was the female resident of the house.
Mattson said that the woman, identified as 27-year-old Lacey Sellors of Iron Mountain, faces a charge of harboring a fugitive and a parole violation.
Bishop is being held in the Dickinson County Jail without bond until he can be transferred to Colorado authorities. Sellors was issued a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
