Annual Silver Tea planned Oct. 4-5
IRON MOUNTAIN – This year’s annual Carmelite Sister’s Silver Tea will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5 from noon to 3 pm at the Carmelite Monastery located at the corner of U.S. 2 and M-95 in Iron Mountain.
The event will be co-hosted by St. Mary Queen of Peace Church in Kingsford and American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford.
Donations of hand-made arts and crafts, fall and Christmas holiday decorations, hand-crafted knick-knacks, wood products and new household items can be dropped off at the Monastery any time but at least two to three weeks prior to the event.
Since this is the Carmelite Sister’s only fund-raiser for the year, your help, support and participation in this diocesan-wide event is necessary for another successful Silver Tea, a spokesperson said.
Drawing tickets are available for at least a donation of a $1 at area Catholic churches for a chance to win a diamond necklace, handmade quilt, Kindle, gas card, cash and a framed picture entitled “Our Daily Bread.”
