Florence Parish schedules special services
FLORENCE, Wis. – The Florence Parish, which is a partnership in Christian Ministry between the First Presbyterian and Bethlehem Lutheran Churches, invites members, friends, and visitors to the area to join in special worship opportunities in August.
On Sunday, Aug. 10, they will “Worship in the Park” at the Lake Emily Pavilion at 10 a.m. Pastor Doug will lead this service and also provide guitar accompaniment for the hymns to be sung that morning.
“Enjoy a time of fellowship, coffee and refreshments after worship. Bring your lawn chair and worship with us,” said a spokesperson.
There will be no services at either church that morning.
Pat Bonales will lead worship at both churches on Sunday, Aug. 17, at the usual 8 a.m. time at First and 9:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran.
“Pat always has an uplifting message to share,” she said.
Thinking about attending the Florence County Fair? Then plan to begin Sunday, Aug. 24, with “Worship at the Fair” at 9:30 a.m. Retired Pastor Larry Warren will lead this service with the assistance of members of First and Bethlehem Lutheran. On this morning, they will sing to the violin being played by Chris Warren. There will be no worship service at First or Bethlehem Lutheran.
Mary Van Haute will be the worship leader and speaker for the Sunday worship services on Aug. 31. Meet at First Presbyterian at the usual 8 a.m. time and 9:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran to hear her message.
Everyone is also welcome to “Come to Supper” on the fourth Monday of the month from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. In August this free delicious meal with dessert and beverages will be held on the Aug. 25 in the fellowship hall at First.
