Book club at library on Aug. 13

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Dickinson County Library has announced the events planned for the week of Aug. 11-18.

They include:

Monday, Aug. 11

Mad Scientist Club: Invisible Forces, 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Dickinson County Library. Students will explore magnetism and air pressure using specially designed kits to perform experiments. Learn more about these forces that are invisible to the eye but have a big impact on our surroundings. This program is for kids in grades K-5.

Tuesday, Aug. 12

ABC Science: M is for Magnets, 10 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library. Learn the ABCs of science at the Dickinson County Library in August. Each session will focus on a different theme that will teach kids the various principles of science with stories, science demonstrations, activities, and crafts. This program is open to children under age 6 and is sponsored by Drs. Michael and Maria Occhietti and family.

Wednesday, Aug. 13

A Novel Bunch Book Club, 2:30 p.m. at the Norway Library. A Novel Bunch Book Club selection for August is “Orphan Train” by Christina Baker Kline. Reading guides for this book are available at the Norway Library or on the Dickinson County Library website, www.dcl-lib.org. A Novel Bunch Book Club is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

Thursday, Aug. 14

A Horse Ranch Experience, 6 p.m. at the Dickinson County Library. Presented by Kate Taylor, local representative of the Spanish Mustang Foundation, this program will feature Kate’s experiences while on vacation at a horse ranch. See these majestic creatures through her eyes as she brings you along on her journey to the great outdoors. This program is perfect for the horse lover in all of us.
