Dickinson County primary election results

IRON MOUNTAIN – Results of all the contested races in Dickinson County’s Aug. 5 primary election are listed below. Out of 21,775 registered voters, 3,150 cast ballots for a 14.47 percent voter turnout.

District 4 county commissioner, Republican: Henry Wender, 340 votes (49.85 percent); Mary VanOss, 264 votes (38.71 percent); Wallace Townsend, 78 votes (11.44 percent).

Norway Township clerk, Republican: Joyce Giuliani, 91 votes (85.85 percent); James Cazzola, 15 votes (14.15 percent).

Breitung Township Schools sinking fund: yes, 652 votes (44.38 percent); no, 817 votes (55.62 percent).

Iron Mountain Schools operation: yes, 441 votes (62.82 percent); no, 261 votes (37.18 percent).

Breen Township ambulance: yes, 53 votes (82.81 percent); no, 11 votes (17.19 percent).

Breen Township fire department: yes, 54 votes (81.82 percent); no, 12 votes (18.18 percent).

Felch Township ambulance: yes, 89 votes (96.74 percent); no, three votes (3.26 percent).

Sagola Township ambulance: yes, 162 votes (85.26 percent); no, 28 votes (14.74 percent).

Sagola Township fire department: yes, 160 votes (83.33 percent); no, 32 votes (16.67 percent).

Sagola Township roads: yes, 141 votes (74.60 percent); no, 48 votes (25.40 percent).

West Branch ambulance: yes, 14 votes (93.33 percent); no, one vote (6.67 percent).
