Councils, Florence School meet today
The Kingsford City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room, located upstairs of the city hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
A bid opening for 2014 local paving projects will be conducted under old business.
New business on the agenda includes a home occupation request for 545 Saratoga Ave., site plan submittal for Family Dollar, and request for a waiver/exception to the pit bull ordinance for a service dog.
The Iron Mountain City Council will met today at 6:30 p.m. in the council meeting room of the city hall building, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
A bid opening regarding garbage collection and disposal services and a discussion of requests to purchase military service credit is listed as items under old business.
New business on the agenda includes setting a public hearing for sale of city-owned real estate for Bill Neuens Enterprises and Krist Oil, a letter of understanding with the Iron Mountain Fire Department regarding donated sick leave, approval to rebuild 4-by-4 Paystar plow truck No. 83; letter of understanding with the union regarding a detective appointment; and approval to purchase a walker lawnmower.
The Norway City Council will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Curtis J. Brackett Memorial Council Chambers at the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.
The agenda include an ordinance to regulate the orderly operation of trucks and vehicles of excess weight and size on public streets in Norway.
Other agenda items include a resolution recognizing Carol Zechlin, approval of professional engineering services for the 14th Avenue storm sewer design and parcel survey, approval of a traffic control order, amendment for the Wastewater Treatment project from Mead & Hunt,
The Florence School District Board of Education will meet today at 6 p.m. for a referendum committee meeting. The meeting will be held in Room 215 of the high school.
The purpose of the meeting is to hold a discussion of a potential referendum.
