IM man suffers gunshot wound
FLORENCE, Wis. – A 60-year-old Iron Mountain man was found lying in a Wisconsin parking lot Thursday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Florence County Sheriff Jeff Rickaby said today.
Rickaby said the man was found at a wayside along County Highway N south of the Pine River by a couple traveling through the area.
Upon arrival, deputies found the man lying on his side and bleeding from his head as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Rickaby.
The man was treated by rescue units from Beacon Ambulance and Aurora Rescue and transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. His condition was not available.
The man’s name has not been released.
