Bobcats eye football season

FLORENCE, Wis. – Florence High School will hand out football equipment to all players Monday at 6 p.m.

Practice will start at 6 p.m. the rest of the week.

All athletes must have all paperwork handed in and an Impact test done within the last year. Impact testing will be available Monday starting at 5 p.m. Any athlete wishing to pick up their paperwork can also come at this time.

PATRIOTS – Volleyball Kick-Off Tournament, a fund-raiser for the Goodman-Pembine high school volleyball program, will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, at Pembine High School. Start time is 3 p.m.

Rosters for the six-on-six, co-ed tournament must have a maximum of three men and minimum of one. High School volleyball rules apply.

The tournament features two divisions – age 18 (out of high school) to 39; age 40 and older.

Entry deadline is Wednesday Aug. 6. Entry fee of $60 may be submitted on the day of the tournament. Any questions or to enter the tourney, contact Ashley Kalkofen at 715-550-4722 or ashleymillan@hotmail.com.

FLIVVERS – Kingsford High School football players will be issued helmets next week at the Flivver Field fieldhouse.

Varsity players should report at 8 a.m. Monday; junior varsity, 8 a.m. Wednesday, and freshmen, 8 a.m. Thursday.

Athletes must have a physical examination prior to the first practice, slated for 9 a.m. Monday for all teams.

TROJANS – Forest Park athletic code meeting for all 2014-15 sports will be held on Tuesday, August 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Alternate date for the first meeting is Thursday, Aug. 7.

All athletes in grades 7-12, as well as parents or guardians, must attend one of the meetings if participating in athletics during the 2014-15 school year.

Athletes are reminded they must have a current physical examination card, insurance information and ImPACT Concussion Baseline Testing on file before they may practice.

MOUNTAINEERS – Football equipment for the upcoming high school season will be handed out at Mountaineer Stadium for all players on Monday, August 4.

Seniors and juniors can pick up gear at 8 a.m., and sophomores and freshmen should arrive at 8:30 a.m.

Football practice for all players begins Monday, August 11, at 8:15 a.m. at Mountaineer Stadium. All players must have a physical before practicing.
