Norway grad earns All-American honor

WHITEWATER, Wis. – Brady Grayvold of Norway along with UW-Whitewater senior teammates Jake Kumerow and Lucas Skibba have been selected as preseason first team All-American by

Grayvold led the Warhawk secondary with a Warhawk record nine interceptions including two returned for touchdowns.

Against Franklin College last November, Grayvold picked off the Grizzlies’ quarterback three times, a mark that has been equaled just three other times in UW-W history.

Grayvold added 61 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, 10 passes broken up, 19 passes defended and forced one fumble in 2013.

Skibba, an offensive lineman, was a Lindy’s preseason second team All-America selection in July.

Kumerow, an honorable mention All-America pick by at wide receiver last season, broke the UW-W record for touchdown receptions in a season with 19 and the season record for receiving yards with 1,331.

Whitewater, which has won five of the last seven NCAA Division III titles, is ranked No. 1 in a trio of 2014 preseason national polls.

The Warhawks open the season on Friday, Sept. 5, at Perkins Stadium against Waldorf (Iowa).
