Business posters preserve Iron Mountain’s heritage
IRON MOUNTAIN – Twelve area businesses and organizations have purchased historical plaques which include a picture and information about their site.
Continuing with their efforts to help preserve and promote the rich heritage of Iron Mountain, the Design Committee of the Main Street Program has offered businesses within the National Historic Business District the opportunity to purchase Plak-It posters featuring their site with an historic photograph and information about the history of the site for $100. The posters are 30 inches by 20 inches, and help tell customers and patrons the story of their site.
Twelve businesses recently received their posters. Beginning today, The Daily News will feature each poster, including the photograph selected by the business and historic information, over the next two weeks.
Participating businesses thus far include: Friends of the Braumart; Fleury, Singler & Company, P.C.; Mellon Chiropractic Clinic, Inc.; Chris Hanley State Farm Insurance Agency; McCash Investment Management, The Miller Agency, Inc.; Dickinson County; Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.; JODECO (John and Debbie McKenzie); B.K. Enterprises; Grayson & Co. Jewelers; and Dr. Todd Schmidt and The Hair Depot.
Businesses interested in acquiring plaques telling the history of their sites can contact Rebecca Grider, manager of Iron Mountain Main Street, at 774-8534 for inclusion in the next order of Plak-It posters.
