‘Living with Alzheimer’s Disease: for Caregivers’ workshop deadline Aug. 7

AURORA, Wis. – Are you a caregiver for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or a dementia?

The ADRC of Florence County and the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin have teamed up to offer two free workshops for caregivers.

“Living with Alzheimer’s: for Caregivers” will be held on Wednesdays, Aug. 13, and Aug. 20, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hillcrest in Aurora. Lunch will be available from the Hillcrest Senior Dining Center at 11:30 a.m.

The sessions offer important and helpful information for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, including: symptoms and care needs, relationship changes, preparing for emergencies, respite care, personal care, managing medications, working through behavior changes, safety, wandering, driving, and the importance of self-care.

While the workshops are free, there is a small cost for lunch:, $3.50 for seniors and $7 for those under 60 years of age.
