Ride for Rescue helps raise funds for Crivitz Rescue Squad

CRIVITZ, Wis. – Since 2010, motorcyclists have raised money for the Crivitz Rescue Squad by participating in the Ride for Rescue, a 100-mile motorcycle run through the back roads of Marinette and surrounding counties.

This year’s fifth annual event, held on Saturday, July 26, helped to raise money for the purchase of two new Lifepak 15 defibrillators, to replace soon-to-be-obsolete models.

The Ride for Rescue included three stops along the way, with drawings and prizes, as well as food provided by Dan and Tim’s Riverside Bar, where the ride began and ended.

The previous four events assisted the squad in purchasing a new ambulance in June 2012, as well as updated stretchers in March 2014, which cost about $7,000 each.

Crivitz Rescue Squad is a non-profit organization whose volunteer staff members have provided emergency medical response and care since its creation in 1953.

The organization is owned and operated by its general membership, and it is not directly affiliated with an municipalities or outside organizations.
