Marinette County Fair set Aug. 21-24 in Wausaukee
WAUSAUKEE, Wis. – Exhibits, food, and fun will be coming to Wausaukee on Aug. 21 through 24 during the 2014 Marinette County Fair.
The fairgrounds are located on Fairgrounds Road, just off of U.S. 141.
Admission costs $5 per day or $15 for the whole weekend. There is no cost for children age five and under.
Advance weekend passes are available for $12 at Witt’s Piggly Wiggly in Crivitz, Associated Bank in Coleman, Sal’s in Wausaukee, Lee’s Family Foods in Peshtigo, the Marinette/Menominee Chamber of Commerce, or from any fair board member.
Carnival wristbands cost $15 each.
Parking in the area directly east of the fairgrounds is available for $1.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, buildings will open at 9 a.m., and carnival rides will start at 1 p.m. Carnival wristbands will be available.
Face-to-face judging will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The 4-H royalty coronation is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Entertainer Kenny Ahern will perform at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8 p.m.
Lawnmower pulls are scheduled for 7 p.m.
Concert Sound DJ will provide music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. to close out the night.
On Friday, Aug. 22, events kick off at 8:30 a.m. with rabbit judging and swine/beef judging.
Buildings open at 9 a.m.
Poultry judging will take place at 9 a.m., followed by the horse pleasure show at 9:30 a.m., then sheep judging at 1 p.m.
Carnival rides start at 1 p.m. Wristbands will be available.
Illusionist Jared Sherlock will perform at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., entertainer Kenny Ahern will perform at 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m., and the Chicago Honey Bear Dancers will perform at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Both the farm tractor pull and the youth livestock auction begin at 7 p.m.
Daze 2 Nights will provide live music from 8 p.m. to midnight.
On Saturday, Aug. 23, the first event will be dairy judging at 8:30 a.m.
Buildings open at 9 a.m., and carnival rides will start at noon.
Illusionist Jared Sherlock will perform at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Early afternoon events include the horse speed show at 12:30 p.m., goat judging at 1 p.m., and the demolition derby at 1 p.m.
The Chicago Honey Bear Dancers will perform at 12:30 and 5 p.m., entertainer Kenny Ahern will perform at 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7 p.m., ventriloquist James Wedgwood will perform at 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Chuck Johnson will perform at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The supermodified truck and tractor pull starts at 7 p.m.
Nashville Pipeline will provide live music from 8 p.m. to midnight.
On Sunday, Aug. 24, morning activities include the horse fun day at 8 a.m., the horse pull at 10 a.m., and the kiddie pedal tractor pull at 11 a.m.
Buildings open at 10 a.m., and carnival rides will start at noon. Carnival wristbands will be available.
Illusionist Jared Sherlock will perform at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., entertainer Kenny Ahern will perform at 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m., and ventriloquist James Wedgwood will perform at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Donkey races begin at 1 p.m., the fair drawing will take place at 2 p.m., and the 4-H drawing is at 3 p.m.
Trophies and awards will be given out beginning at 3 p.m.
The fair will close and exhibits will be released at 5 p.m.
