Area boards meeting tonight

The Iron Mountain School District Board of Education is meeting today at 6 in the Izzo Mariucci Center, 217 Izzo Mariucci Way in Iron Mountain.

The agenda includes reorganizational items as well as amending the state aid note authorizing resolution, Schools of Choice resolution, tuition for non-Michigan students, approve an updated deficit elimination plan, accept a resignation from a custodian, and hire a technology director.

A closed session is also planned to discuss negotiations and budget.

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6:30 tonight in the circuit courtroom of the courthouse.

The agenda includes a proposed contract for construction of T-hangars at Ford Airport and a presentation regarding a proposed expansion of the U.P. Veterans Memorial.

The Breitung Township Board of Trustees will meet today at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the township offices in Quinnesec.

The agenda includes opening proposals for IT/computer services, Badwater recreation area, ordinance to comply with requirements of Michigan Planning and Zoning Enabling Act, and noise ordinance under old business.

New business on the agenda includes vacancies on the board of review and zoning board of appeals. a request to attend a seminar, resolution for Breitung Township Schools and draft copy of the 2015 budget.

The Niagara Board of Education will meet today at 5:30 p.m. in the learning materials center of the high school, 700 Jefferson Ave. in Niagara.

New business on the agenda includes approval of an elementary math instructor, resignation of golf coach, second reading of semester exam attendance waiver, second reading of electronic communication devices, approval of an exception to open enrollment in 4K, and administrator’s report.

A closed session is also planned to discuss staffing/potential retirement of support staff member/ master scheduling and assignment updates.
