Hurley man found dead

IRONWOOD – A Hurley, Wis., man who had been reported missing was found dead Sunday inside his vehicle, submerged in about 10 feet of water.

According to the Ironwood Public Safety Department, a Hurley Police Department officer located the vehicle within caves near Alfred Wright Boulevard in Ironwood.

The Ironwood Public Safety Department, Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department, and Michigan State Police assisted in identifying the vehicle.

The vehicle was extricated from the water. The man’s name will be released once his family has been notified.

The case remains under investigation by the Hurley Police Department and Ironwood Public Safety Department.
