Johnny McCandless Jr.

QUINNESEC – Johnny L. “John” “Butch” McCandless Jr., 55, of Quinnesec, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born on July 29, 1958, in Denison, Texas.

John graduated from Lompoc High School in Lompoc, Calif. in 1976 .

He worked for M.J. Electric for more than 33 years, most recently as a superintendent/project manager.

He was a member of the IBEW Local 876.

Johnny like to fish, golf, play guitar, hunt, cook, and make chili. He enjoyed being with his dog, Abbie.

John is survived by his son, Chris McCandless of Austin, Texas; his wife, Pam Moroni of Quinnesec; his dad, Johnny McCandless Sr. of Florida; his sister, Connie McCandless Lyband of Rossville, Ga.; his stepchildren, Justin Bocks of Kingsford, Jessica Bocks of Kingsford, and Jennifer Thelander of Skandia; his step-grandson Brandon Clement; special friends, Dave Lucas, Russ Pomeroy, and Ida Scott; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mom and stepfather, Anita and Gordon Barrett.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home and Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James Danielson will officiate.

The family would like to thank the staff of the emergency department and I.C.U. at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
