Grilling competition part of Crystal Falls Summer Fest

CRYSTAL FALLS – The second annual “Grillin’ On the Hill” is part of this weekend’s Summer Fest in Crystal Falls.

This free competition is open to everyone – all participants need to do is pre-register, bring their own charcoal grill or smoker, and the meat they will use in the competition. Teams are encouraged.

The competition will take place Saturday. Judging will take place at 3 p.m. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded.

“This is your time to claim bragging rights to your grilling skills,” a spokesperson said.

Also during Summer Fest, there will be more than 60 vendors displaying their crafts or flea market finds; face painting; and live music by Swallowtail, among other activities.

“Take a stroll through the historical Harbour House Museum and enjoy a piece of homemade pie,” a spokesperson said. “Sit on the warp-around porch and imagine life in a simpler time.”

The evening will be topped off with a dance at the Crystal Falls VFW in downtown Crystal Falls.

On Sunday, the Crystal Theatre will be open for a special presentation of a Rosemary Clooney Tribute featuring Ellen Winters, beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at the box office the day of the concert.
