Lucille V. Stephan

IRON MOUNTAIN – Lucille V. Stephan, 90, of Felch, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain. She was born on Dec. 28, 1923, in Felch, the daughter of the late Fred and Jennie (Bedard) Dixon.

Lucille was a lifelong resident of Felch and graduated from Felch High School in 1941. She was a secretary at the Felch Public School and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and playing the organ and accordion. Lucille loved God, family, community, and country. She was a generous person who opened her home to others.

She married Edwin Oman in March of 1941. He preceded her in death in 1962.

In July of 1969 she married her second husband Gust Stephan at Zion Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on 1999.

Lucille is survived by five children, Shirley (Norman) Skogman of Foster City, Ronald Oman of Felch, Robert Oman of Felch, Wanda Oman of Iron Mountain and Scott Oman of Felch; one sister, Betty Kenny of Felch; three step-children, Gayle Stephan of Kingsford, Jeff (Karen) Stephan of Felch and Loann (Don) Farrell of Felch; one sister-in-law, Pat Dixon of Iron Mountain; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three children, Carol Aichner, James Oman and Barbara Dario; five brothers, Earl, Gordon, Russell, Donald and Allen Dixon; three sisters, Bernice Johnson, Velva, Dixon and Carol Jean Dixon; two grandsons, Robert Oman Jr. and Tim Mattson; and one great-granddaughter, Marie Juneau.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Metropolitan. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate. Burial will be in the Felch Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be will be her grandsons Mark Cavalieri, Jason Oman, Michael Oman, Ryan Oman, Philip Oman, Lee Blomquist, and Brandon Michaud.
