‘Feeding America’ mobile pantry makes a stop in IM

IRON MOUNTAIN – Hundreds of families received a box of food from the Feeding America mobile pantry, which made a stop recently at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain.

“We are hoping to help those struggling to make ends meet,” said organizers.

The free event was brought to the area through the work of area churches and organizations.

They include Trinity United Methodist Church, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, and First Covenant Church, all of Iron Mountain; First United Presbyterian Church in Kingsford; Grace United Methodist Church in Norway; Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America; the Salvation Army; the Kiwanis Club; the Iron Mountain Area Clergy Association; and the Dickinson Area Community Foundation.

Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Its mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger.
