IR student receives LP scholarship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Louisiana-Pacific Corporation has announced that Megan Miatech, daughter of LP employee Glen and Kathy Miatech, has been selected as a recipient of a 2014 LP Scholarship.

The annual $1,500 award is renewable for three additional years, for a total of $6,000 over a four year period.

Megan is a graduate of West Iron County High School in Iron River. She plans to attend Central Michigan University, majoring in athletic training.

Sixteen children of LP employees across the U.S. and Canada were awarded the LP Scholarship this year. Recipients of the competitive scholarship are selected based on a number of factors, including academic record, leadership, community involvement, goals and aspirations.

The LP Scholarship Program was established more than 35 years ago for college-bound children of LP employees. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, an independent, non-profit organization.
