Geyser receives NMU outstanding grad award, takes position at UPHP

Lisa Geyser was selected by the Walker L. Cisler College of Business faculty as the 2014 Outstanding Graduating Senior from Northern Michigan University. She was also the recipient of the Business Computer Informational Systems Scholar Award.

Geyser is a 2010 graduate of Iron Mountain High School and a graduated from Northern Michigan University in May. She received a bachelor of science degree in business computer information systems.

She is now employed in the Information Technology department at Upper Peninsula Health Plan located in Marquette.


BK Enterprises in Iron Mountain was named the official awards provider for the U.P. Football All-Star Game held on June 28 at the Superior Dome in Marquette.

BK Enterprises provides awards, including trophies, plaques and individual recognitions to many of the area schools and businesses

BK Enterprises provided the all-star player, coach and sponsor plaques, the most valuable player plaques, as well as sponsoring the Championship Travelling Trophy.

“BK has been involved with the All-Star Game since the very beginning and has gone out of their way to support this game, as well as the players and coaches, and we are thankful for their generosity. The awards provided will certainly become keepsakes for many people long after the game concludes”, said an all-star game chairman.

James Quayle, FIC, of Iron River, a financial associate with the Great Lakes Group of Thrivent Financial has been named a qualifying and life member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

Qualifying and Life status is earned once approved for the 10th year of membership. Quayle qualified for this honor based on his outstanding client service, ethical conduct and professional knowledge in 2013.

The MDRT is an international, independent association of leading life insurance and financial services professionals.

Quayle is associated with Thrivent Financial’s Eastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Regional Financial Office. His office is located at 116 N. 4th Avenue, Iron River, MI. Quayle has served Thrivent Financial members for 18 years.
