Car, motorcycle collide in Marinette County

MARINETTE, Wis. – Four people were injured – at least one seriously – in a car-motorcycle collision on U.S. 141 in the town of Beaver on Friday, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly before noon, a southbound motorcycle driven by a 52-year-old male from Kimberly, Wis., collided with an eastbound car that failed to yield at the intersection of County Highway P, deputies said.

The motorcyclist’s wife, age 54, who was a passenger, was seriously injured. She and her husband were taken to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette. She was later flown to a Green Bay hospital by Eagle 3.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old male from Coleman, Wis., and his passenger, a 16-year-old female from Crivitz, Wis., were also taken to Bay Area Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.

It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, deputies said.

Also responding were Wisconsin State Patrol troopers, Coleman Rescue and Fire, Crivitz Rescue, Pound-Beaver Fire and Bay Area Medical paramedics. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Marinette Police.
