We are God’s workmanship

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Through faith in Jesus we are a new creation in His cross and resurrection. Paul tells us that we reveal the skill, ability & creativity of God. We are the product of His design. We are to do good works. What opportunities are being set before us? Are we producing the good that we have been created to accomplish?

Do you recognize that the good you do does not make up for even one sin against God? Jesus alone can forgive sin. Sin can only be removed from your life through the death of Jesus on the cross.

This is applied to your life and mine, your sin and mine, through faith in Jesus. In faith, we confess our sins, turn from our sins, claim the forgiveness that Jesus offers and seek to live in the amended life of faith in Jesus.

The resurrection of Jesus is the promise of life eternal in a heavenly home. It is the promise that we will be further clothed in the life of heaven in the presence of Jesus with a glorified body like His resurrection body. It is also the promise of the presence of Jesus and His provision for our lives daily. Jesus is with us. His love, help, comfort and strength are ours today. Live the faith.

The good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do are works that are not able to save us. They come from faith and are the result of salvation.

Our motivation is our salvation and love for Jesus. So, don’t just sit in the pew. What is your role & your place in the work and ministry of Christ’s kingdom. Your baptism is your call to service in Jesus name.
