Carol Heidenreich

IRON MOUNTAIN – Carol Mae Heidenreich, 78 of Iron Mountain, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born on Dec. 24, 1935, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Earl and Lulu (Wiiks) Bennett. She attended the Iron Mountain schools, graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1953

Carol married Albert W. “Al” Heidenreich on July 25, 1953, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2011, after 58 loving years together.

She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the Northwoods Art League, the LeArtist Art Group, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Encaustic Network Unlimited, and the Sportsman’s Off-road Vehicle Association.

Carol loved painting, and was a true artist. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, and loved being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She, along with her husband Al, served on the Government Hunting and Fishing Task Force for four years. Most of all she loved her time spent around the kitchen table with family and friends.

Carol is survived by her son, Fritz M. (Amy) Heidenreich of Green Bay, Wis.; daughters, Kathy (Ken) Clawson of Iron Mountain, and Cindy Suplinski of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Teona (Eric) Miller, Tom, Erin, and Hana Heidenreich, Sara Clawson and Clayton Suplinski; six great- grandchildren; her brother, Frank (Sharon) Bennett of Gaylord, MI; three step-grandchildren, Ken (Nachawin) Clawson, Eric (Jacci) Clawson, Cassandra (Ryan) Clark; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 5, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Walter Reichle will officiate. Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Air Lifeline.
