D of I Circle 367 potluck Monday

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Daughters of Isabella Circle 367 will be meeting on Monday, June 30 with a potluck luncheon at noon at the I.C. Faith Formation Center in Iron Mountain.

All members and guests are welcome.

The D of I June 5 meeting was opened by Regent Marcene Fuse at the I.C. Faith Formation Center at 1 p.m. with the recitation of the opening prayer.

The opening Ode was sung followed by the pledge to the flag and to the state of Michigan.

Chancellor Louise Plante presented a religious reading entitled “Meeting Jesus.” Years ago great parades were held with the procession in the streets with the carrying of the Eucharist by the Priest, as we live with Jesus in praise and thanksgiving. In the Eucharist we live in Jesus.

It was announced that a previous member Margaret Campbell had passed away on May 19 as we remember her in prayer.

The Hail Mary persons for June are Lu Villa and Dorothy Schinderle. Prayers were requested for Barbara Tippett who is ill.

Birthdays of active members, Marge Menghini, Beverly Chartier, June Izzo, and Caroline Hansen were acknowledged. Dorothy Edens will be celebrating her 90th birthday on July 7.

It was announced that Msgr. Kaczmarek will be celebrating his 45th year in the priesthood and Fr. Valerio at 55 years. Cards were sent to honor them.

Regent Marcene announced that the July meeting will be the annual potluck luncheon on Thursday, however due to the Michigan State officers coming to Iron Mountain to meet with the officers, the luncheon will be changed to Monday, June 30. All are asked to bring a dish to pass.

Members attending should also bring a newspaper wrapped gift to be used as prizes for bingo. There will not be a July meeting.

No one will be attending the June convention at Mackinaw Island, but the reports required were sent in with the convention fee.

The drill was had for the good of the order, the obligation was taken and “Open My Eyes Lord” was sung.

Chancellor Louise led in the closing prayer and the closing D of I song was sung with members holding hands in unity.

Lunch was served by hostess Betty Simon and bingo was played, followed by cards.
