FLORENCE, Wis. – Florence M. Lipinski, 91, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Chicago, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Fruzen) Krusinski. Florence married John Lipinski on Dec. 30, 1940, in Chicago. They moved to Florence in 1946, and she worked for the Florence Villa Nursing Home for 15 years. John preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2000.
Florence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence and the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing bingo and her trips to the casino but especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, John J. (Annette) Lipinski, Jr. of Haughton, La. and Mike (Mona) Lipinski of Pound Wis.; two daughters, Pat (Paul) Wender of Iron Mountain and Diane (Steve) Simbob of Crystal Falls; 12 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jenna) Simbob, Natalie Simbob (Aaron), Mindy (Quentin) Teske, Bret Herman, Michael (Wendy) Lipinski Jr., Dan (Tara) Lipinski, Ben (Cassie) Lipinski, Joanna (Jeremy) Gross, Tammy (Randy) Hayes, Laura (Fred) Goltz, Jesse (Kim) Lipinski and Mark (Amy) Lipinski; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband John, Florence was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Ann Lipinski; four brothers, Richard, George, Roman and Matt Krusinski; and two sisters, Evelyn Smith and Gertrude Barnett.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home in Florence.
Prayers will be recited Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. St. Mary Catholic Church in Florence. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Commonwealth, Wis.
