Looking for information

EDITOR:

My name is Thierry LaCourt, I live in Belgium, I’m genealogist (amateur) and I’m looking for information about one American cousin who took part of the Allied landing in Normandy in June 1944.

Charles Albert LaCourt died in Saint-Lo on August 1944. His body was returned to Iron Mountain, Michigan. He was born in Sagola on May 20, 1925. One of his brothers was James Albert LaCourt. James was a staff sergeant with the 1266th Engineer Combat Battalion in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.

He worked for the Iron Mountain Gas Co. as a delivery man for more than 30 years, retiring in 1981.

Charles’s father was James Albert LaCourt, born in Sagola in 1892, and died in Iron Mountain in 1961. His mother was Marion I. Dunbar and was born in Rockford 1899.

Any help or information on Charles Albert would be greatly appreciated : obituaries, pictures, articles.

Thanks so much for your support.
