Marine Corps League passing out flags Saturday

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Marine Corps League, Iron Mountain Detachment 1239, will again be handing out 4-by-6-inch American flags from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Flag Day, Saturday. Scheduled locations include Walmart, Shopko, Super One and Econo Foods.

This is to commemorate the adoption of the flag of the United States which happened on that day in 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

The flags are handed out free, donations are not necessary, but are very much appreciated. The Iron Mountain Marine Corps League is a non-profit veterans organization and any donations received will go into the general fund to be used to support the various programs they are involved in and have to fulfill that mission along with helping Marines and veterans in the local area.
