Lady Cats sweep
WHITE LAKE, Wis. – Florence closed out the high school softball season by sweeping White Lake, 15-7 and 16-1, in a Northern Lakes Conference doubleheader.
In the opener for Coach Dan Robinson’s Bobcats, sophomore Emma Seibold was a “bright spot” by smacking a three-run homer and single.
Tessa Merhalski (double) and Alix Loker also tallied two hits, and Brier Winney added another hit.
The Bobcats plated six runs in the second inning and another six in the third.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Springer “pitched a real nice game,” spacing four hits with two strikeouts and six walks.
Florence, which won five games this season, produced 13 runs in the third inning of the second game.
Bobcats pitcher Shelby Brunette helped her cause with a bases-loaded triple. Merhalski (double) and Seibold each chipped in two hits, and Kim Huotari singled.
Brunette permitted three hits with six strikeouts and two walks in the three-inning game.
