BLOOMER, Wis. – Two members of the Northwoods Storm track & field team will compete at the state meet Friday and Saturday in LaCrosse.
Niagara’s Tarzis Maurer qualified in three events, and Florence’s Emma Baumgart made it in one event.
Maurer took home a sectional championship in the long jump Friday, leaping 21-8. He also finished fourth in both the 100 and 200 dashes.
Baumgart wound up third in the 100 high hurdles.
Other competitors for the Northwoods Storm Friday included Maddy Doll, who finished 14th in the shot put and 15th in the discus; Bryan Glime, who went 15th in the high jump; and Danny Jones, who was 15th in the 3200. The Storm’s boys 4×200 relay of Brett Pultz, Drew Seibold, Adam Parent and Maurer took ninth place.
Team sectional titles went to Oscela on the girl’s side and Altoona for the boys. Northwoods Storm was 14th in the boy’s points and 26th among the girl’s teams.
