Rose Dishaw

IRON RIVER – Rose B. Dishaw, 91, of Iron River, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.

She was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Loretto, MI, the daughter of the late Pio and Catherine (Antonetti) Rometti. She attended the Iron River schools.

Rose married George Henry Dishaw on Sept. 7, 1940, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. George preceded her in death in 1976.

Rose was employed as a production worker at Coleman Products for ten years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, and St. Agnes Altar Society. She loved family traditions, and was deeply loved by her family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Henry; brothers, Herman, Silvio, and Ernest Rometti; and sisters, Ellen Treloar, Jenny Sartorelli, Emalinda Gasperini, and Esther Rodda.

Rose is survived by her son, Michael (Karla) Dishaw of Eagle, Wis.; daughter, Pat (Mark) Zenko of Niagara, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Diane Dishaw (Melvin Anderson) of Negaunee; brother, Rolland “Rollie” (Mildred) Rometti of Iron River; grandchildren; Mark Dishaw, Paul Dishaw, Laura Lancour, Linda Ponzio, Jeanie Liebergen, Aaron Dishaw, Erica Stamm, and Alec Dishaw; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.

Pallbearers are Paul, Aaron, and Alex Dishaw, Matthew and T. J. Liebergen, and Joey Weber.

Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
