Margaret Campbell

KINGSFORD – Margaret Campbell, 94, of Kingsford, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1919, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Leonard and Lucille (DiStasio) Paradiso. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1939.

Margaret married Paul Campbell on Aug. 24, 1939, in Breitung Township. The couple owned Blue Room Antiques in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1986.

She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church and its St. Anne Circle. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Margaret worked as a cashier at Ben Franklin. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing cribbage and other card games. She organized her class reunions and was a volunteer driver, driving many people to Marinette for chemotherapy. Margaret bowled at Recreation Lanes and enjoyed aqua-aerobics.

Margaret is survived by six children, Margaret “Peggy” Buell, Michael (Roberta) Campbell, Patrick (Mary Lou) Campbell, Janice (Jim) Lowe, Mary Lou (Gary Twigg) Campbell and Daniel (Kay) Campbell; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special niece, Carol Cerasoli; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Campbell; one daughter, Anna Marie Campbell; two sisters, Ann Carr and Mary LaLiberte; two brothers, Adam and Tony Paradiso; and a special niece, Beverly Carlson.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Friday at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Father Michael Woempner will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Quinnesec Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit.
