AURORA, Wis. – Dean Melin, 85, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Dean was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Aurora, son of the late Ragnar and Eva (Provencher) Melin. He graduated from Kingsford High School, class of 1946, and later went on to serve in the U.S. Army.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of more than 63 years, Vivian; two sons, Rodger (Marcia) Melin of Burnsville, Minn., and David (Else) Melin of Iron Mountain; and one daughter, Debbie (Mark) Albright of Green Bay, Wis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon and Ragnar Melin; and one granddaughter, Erin Melin.
In accordance with Dean’s wishes, the Hiram D. Fisher Masonic Lodge 222 will conduct a graveside memorial service at noon on Sunday, May 25, at the Aurora Cemetery.
A celebration of Dean’s life will be held at the C & R Bar in Aurora at approximately 1 p.m. following the memorial service.
