Blues belt Ishpeming
KINGSFORD – Kingsford Blues, demonstrating solid pitching and hitting, swept Ishpeming, 10-0 and 11-1, in American Legion baseball Sunday at Lodal Park’s Gary Spigarelli Memorial Field.
Blues pitchers Daniel Harrington and Brock Grenier both went the distance in the five-inning games.
Kingsford’s defense was also strong, yielding seven hits and turning two double plays. The Blues pounded out 17 hits in two games.
“Our bats were hot along with our team speed running the bases,” coach Ed Kowalkowski noted. “The pitching was super.”
The Blues, 3-1in the Mid-Peninsula American Legion Baseball League, returns to action May 28 against Channing.
