Little League Major baseball

IRON MOUNTAIN – UCT, sparked by the pitching and hitting of CJ Bolo, downed Hermansville in Little League Major baseball.

Bolo tossed a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts and two walks. He also slugged a home run and two triples, and knocked in five runs.

Caleb Johnson also aided the offense with a home run an double. Jake Dumais chipped in a double and single.

Elks defeated Econo Foods 11-1. Jurgen Kleiman went four innings, striking out six and giving up five hits.

Foster Wonders and Tony Feira smacked home runs for Elks, Fiera also adding a single. Eli Lofholm hit three singles, and Michael Saverin added two more hits. Caleb Evosovich had a double. David Juul, Andrew Person and Kleiman also had hits.

The Vulcan Lions posted a 7-5 victory over Norway Kiwanis. Parker Lasater and Kody Hendricks gave up five runs on five hits for the Lions. Peyton Thompson and Ganon Bray gave up seven runs on eight hits for Kiwanis. Lions offense was led by Jeff Van Holla who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Lasater went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, and Ren Thorne went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs.

Kiwanis was led by Caleb Burkland who was 2-for-3 with a double, and Logan Parolini was 1-for-2 with a two-run triple in the fourth inning.

Iron Mountain North Rotary blanked Pembine 12-0.

Rotary pitchers Marcus Johnson and Luke Theisen pitched a no-hitter with eight strike outs.

Gio Basanese had two doubles for Rotary. Nick Opolka had two singles, Zach Spera doubled and Johnson, Theisen, Bryce Pietrantonio, and Michael Talerico added singles.

The Kingsford Lions downed the Niagara Badgers 14-4. Logan Normand started and racked up five strikeouts. Cole Bracket finished and added four more strikeouts. Jessie Julian had two singles, Zach Wood had a triple and a double, Reece Fortner had a single, and Jack Perpich had a single and a double.

Blake Julian, CJ Bolo and Ryan Hakamaki each tripled as UCT downed Norway Kiwanis 10-3.

Julian collected two hits and Caleb Johnson doubled to also assist the attack.

Bolo, Julian, Jake Dumais and Johnson pitched for UCT.

Iron Mountain Kiwanis defeated Norway Eblings/VFW in Little League minor baseball. Hunter Fortner threw a no hitter, striking out nine, as Iron Mountain Kiwanis broke open a tight game in the later innings. Fortner (double, triple), Lucas Maxon (double, triple), Reed Heathman (double, triple) Tony Kralovec (triple) Brandon Sokolowski (triple) and Beau Kralovec (double) fueled the Kiwanis offense.
