Two injured in Iron Mountain crash

IRON MOUNTAIN – A Norway woman and Iron Mountain woman were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 2 Thursday afternoon in Iron Mountain.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was dispatched at approximately 3:30 p.m. to U.S. 2 near the Dollar Tree and the South Branch of First National Bank & Trust of Iron Mountain-Kingsford.

Officers said a vehicle operated by an 86-year-old Norway woman pulled out from an access road near the Dollar Tree into the path of another vehicle operated by a 19-year-old Iron Mountain woman, who was traveling east on U.S. 2.

The Norway woman had to be extricated from her vehicle by the R-300 unit from the Breitung Township Fire Department.

Both women were transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital by Integrated First Response Ambulance and treated for their injuries, officers said.

The Norway woman was issued a failure to yield citation.

Also assisting on the scene were the Iron Mountain Fire Department, Cerasoli Motors, and Twin City Towing.
