IRON MOUNTAIN – An Iron Mountain man has been charged with a felony for an incident last week in which he allegedly damaged an Iron Mountain Police Department squad car.
Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards said that 21-year-old Kevin David McDowell faces one felony count of malicious destruction of fire or police property.
If convicted, he could spend up to four years in prison.
McDowell will appear in Dickinson County District Court for a preliminary examination on May 6.
The charge stems from an April 25 incident in the Iron Mountain Police Department parking lot.
According to Chief Peter Flaminio, one of his officers witnessed McDowell take a rock and smash the front driver’s side window of a squad car.
McDowell then allegedly attempted to break the rear driver’s side window, but was unsuccessful.
When confronted by the witnessing officer, McDowell was arrested without incident and transported to the Dickinson County Jail.
