Police vehicle windows smashed

IRON MOUNTAIN – Police arrested an Iron Mountain man after he was observed smashing out the windows of a police vehicle parked at the Police Department in broad daylight.

Iron Mountain Police Department officers arrested the 21-year-old man at 10:45 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Iron Mountain Police Department for destruction of police property, said Chief Peter Flaminio.

A police officer witnessed the suspect in the parking lot at the police department take a rock and smash the front and driver’s side windows of a police vehicle, as well as attempt to smash the rear driver’s side window, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect was the confronted by the police officer and was arrested without incident and transported the Dickinson County Correctional Center, Chief Flaminio said.
