Flivvers dominate

KINGSFORD – Kingsford blanked Norway 8-0 Wednesday to open the Knights’ high school tennis season.

Flivvers’ Adam Szabo downed Mitchell Pickart 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

“Mitchell went from playing three singles to one singles this year,” Maloney said. “He really played well, returning a lot of hard serves and moving well.”

The Knights coach also cited No. 3 Steve Wicker and Gio Pedrotti, who bowed to Kevin LeClaire and Peter Fornetti.

“Steve and Gio really played well as a team, hitting a lot of good volleys and going to a lot of deuces in the games,” she said.

“It was a great season opener with lots of tennis played and lots learned,” Maloney said.
